Portraiture in Indian Miniature Painting

April-May 2021

Serendipity House

Indian art practices and aesthetics presented a new system of expression to artists in East Asia, the five-week workshop encompassed introduction to cultural background and historical developments of Indian miniature painting, step-by-step process of making a portrait, and in-depth analysis of color pigments. Students matched the course teachings with enormous zeal for practice and investigation.

Works from this workshop demonstrated a high quality of finish, reflecting personal inquisitions, thoughts, observations, absorption, and explorations. These works were included in a group exhibition in January 2022 at Serendipity Art Space.
