Cloud and Water – Ebru for Mineral Pigment Painting

An innovative workshop over three sessions, combining the traditional technique of paper marbling – ebru – with experimental methods of collage and mineral pigment painting. Students are guided to pay close attention to the special qualities of pigments and the way colors and textures are built up in layers. In addition, the sessions were a way for making discoveries on the relationship between bodily movements, senses, and the work that takes form from a process of awareness. The workshop culminated in mini critique session for students to talk about their work, inspirations and processes.
